Thomas Tuchel has opted to stick with the same Three Lions selection that secured victory against Andorra and produced a stellar performance in Serbia last month, leaving no room for Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden in his selection for the forthcoming friendly against Wales and the qualifying match in Latvia.

Although Foden pushing for a return to the squad after rediscovering his form at Manchester City, and Bellingham having made a comeback for Real Madrid following a surgical procedure, the national team manager has opted not to selecting two of the nation's biggest offensive stars. Bellingham has been in the starting lineup just a single time for his team since his comeback.

The England boss has made room for the Arsenal winger, who is back to fitness and has been reinstated in place of his injured Arsenal teammate the sidelined player. The experienced attacker has not been handed a return to the squad.

Tuchel highlighted the vibrancy in last month's squad and seems intent on maintaining the vibe. The Newcastle defender, who featured at left-back in the convincing victory in Serbia, has dropped out due to a knock. The manager has opted against selecting a direct replacement for the Newcastle player but has included the Manchester City defender, who had to withdraw last month. He has spoken about the Manchester City defender's significance for the national team and has suggested deploying him in the middle of the park.

No spot has been found for Adam Wharton, who was called up last month but pulled out injured and was replaced by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The manager stated: “It was only three weeks after the previous gathering and the last win, the latest display, so the question was why not bring the identical squad in because they set the standard. The focus now is on creating habits out of it. We have unfortunately a couple of fitness issues at the moment with Tino and Noni and we welcome of course the Arsenal forward in to replace Madueke. Jarell Quansah was a last-minute addition previously; he will stay in camp.”
