Skydance Paramount will begin significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, eliminating about 2,000 positions in the United States under a expense reduction strategy valued at $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
These job cuts follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August worth $8.4bn.
Further overseas workforce reductions are expected, with Paramount Skydance aiming to announce complete information via its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Prior news suggested that Paramount was looking to cut from 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.
By December 2024, the organization retained about 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 temporary project employees.
