Explore Twenty-Nine New Game Cards from Magic's TMNT Set (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-loving heroes are coming to the popular trading card game. The popular TCG's company, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a special panel hosted at NYCC. Could this be a radical addition or yet another Universes Beyond cash grab? Let you decide.

Take a look below at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including key background. All items mentioned here releases on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before we get into the many special decks and bundles available, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by the developers. Play boosters for the set are priced at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few shell-shocking features. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu ability, in which gamers can cheat big creatures onto the game field whenever an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells as well. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the ability a bit (It is treated as playing a spell, unlike the older mechanic). The original ability isn't going away, but chances are we'll see the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.

Should we go back to Kamigawa, we might use Ninjutsu since that plane is it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced designer stated. “But on other planes, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is one of four special cards with special art created exclusively for the expansion by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing game cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. But according to Wizards, that's now a official card in all formats of Magic.

Anyway, here are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from this set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's current policy, all these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers state they were careful to make sure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for over a year and we knew it would be Standard-legal and what other sets would be near it in standard,” the designer says. “We designed to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” the designer says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to design any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it includes six distinct legendary cards that can serve as your commander depending on how you combine them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command area rather than just one). Check them out below:

This Commander deck is set at $69.99, although that could easily go up due to demand. Sources told that it includes 43 new cards altogether, which means an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed cards in addition to the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the precon comes with 37 lands.)

How will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

As per usual, Wizards is selling a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 15 Foil basic lands
  • 15 Non-foil land cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promotional card
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it comes in what looks like a pizza box. Every Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the items below:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • One storage box

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card with brand-new TMNT artwork. The team revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding black licorice pieces onto a pizza. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

The Pizza Bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This unique product is made for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to play draft)
  • One Premium Booster (also known as, the prize for coming in first)
  • 90 Non-foil land cards (to build your draft deck)
  • Ten Regular double-sided tokens
  • One drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to develop Magic game products aimed at new players. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that let you and a friend join forces to face a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The concept here that every Boss card gives special abilities to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card per turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
