Christantus Uche Ignites Straightforward Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their first-ever European adventure, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Without star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding win that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure straight entry to the knockout stages, particularly after a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity
This occasion offered a chance for some of Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second consecutive match.
A Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season proved outmatched against a largely rotated Palace outfit. The Londoners were already weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg injuries.

Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly established dominance. A slick move in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to lay on Uche for a straightforward finish.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
