Attorney General Discloses Investigation into Trump Opponents and Jeffrey Epstein Links

This past Friday, Pam Bondi assigned Jay Clayton to oversee an investigation into political adversaries of the President and their connections with the late financier. This decision came just after Trump instructed her to begin the investigation.

During an announcement, Bondi praised Jay Clayton as “one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country”. The official remarked, “The department will handle this matter promptly and thoroughly to provide clarity for citizens.”

This development appears to contradict a July memo from justice department officials which declared that documents related to Epstein did not warrant further inquiries. According to the document, authorities “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”

The President Demands Focus on Democrats in Epstein Matter

This news comes as growing pressure from Trump on congressional Republicans to block the full release of Epstein-related documents before an key congressional decision next week. Many Republicans are expected to support the disclosure.

Newly public communications from Jeffrey Epstein have brought attention to Trump’s previous connections with the sex trafficker, including information that he knew more about Epstein’s conduct than he has previously let on.

On Friday, Trump announced he would direct the DOJ to examine connections between Epstein and Democratic figures, including Bill Clinton, Larry Summers and Reid Hoffman. Interestingly, Trump also described the “Epstein hoax” as a “scam”.
